Known for his collaborative approach, Ivan thrives on developing concepts, story ideas, and visual styles in partnership with directors. He is deeply invested in the study of cinema and narrative storytelling.
Technical Expertise
In the digital age, Ivan believes that a major part of cinematography lies in mastering the post-production process and color. He is highly proficient in DaVinci Resolve and has a strong understanding of compositing software like Nuke. This technical knowledge allows him to effectively communicate with VFX supervisors, directors, and producers, ensuring the highest quality final image.
He has knowledge and experience to shot motion picture film.

Ivan has lent his expertise to numerous high-profile projects, collaborating with renowned performers and directors, including Bjork, Depeche Mode, Michel Gondry, and Todd Haynes. His cinematography credits include the feature films Sunrise (2022, starring Guy Pearce) and Dead Money (2023, starring Emile Hirsch, directed by Luc Walpoth).
His third film In Tandem, currently in post-production, is scheduled for release 2026
He also served as the VFX and Model Unit DP for the studio feature The Greatest Showman (Main Unit DP: Seamus McGarvey) and as a Second Unit DP on Amazon Studios' Wonderstruck (Dir. Todd Haynes, Main Unit DP: Ed Lachman).
Originally from Slovakia, Ivan moved to New York in 2002.
